The ISU World Development Trophy 2014 Short Track Speed Skating was successfully held at the Dongguan Ice Star Ice Rink on March 16 – 21, 2014 organized by International Skating Union and hosted by Hong Kong Skating Union. This event consisting of a 5-day training camp and a 1-day competition which not only allowed the young skaters to participate the training but experience the real atmosphere of an official international competition.
The “ISU World Development Trophy” was funded by ISU and conducted by the ISU officials including ISU Referee Mr. Nicolle Kelvin(NZL), Mr. Hae-Gang Pyung (KOR), ISU Competitor Steward, Mr. Filipic Hermann (AUT) and ISU Starter Mr. Xu Xun (CHN), as well as the internationally renowned moderator, Ms. Yang Yang S., Ms. Sun Linlin and Ms. Zhang Jing, aimed to provide opportunities for the ISU developing Asian members to participate the training camp and international competition. The training camp contained on-ice, off-ice and theoretical course.
Those short track speed skaters aged from 12 to 20 from Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong participated the event. Hong Kong Skaters achieved excellent results: 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze on the last day of the competition.
