SU Sanctioned \”NRW Trophy 2014 (Single and Pairs)\” was held from November 26 to 30, 2014 in Dortmund, Germany.
Hong Kong Skating Union Member Marin ONO / Hon Lam TO won the Pairs gold medal. Suisses’s Alexandra HEBRIKOVA / Nicolas ROULET from Switzerland claimed the silver medal and Minerva Fabienne HASE / Nolan SEGERT of Germany earned the bronze.
Marin ONO / Hon Lam TO could perform most of their planned elements like the double Loop throw and the side by side double Axel. However, the throw triple Salchow and one lift didn’t work. But the young couple kept their heads up and fought through their program to “Black Swan”. They scored 71,10 points and accumulated 113,59 points overall to win their first Senior gold medal.
“We skated pretty well, but we know, that we can do better. It’s our first senior year and the second year we are competing as a pair, it’s very tough for us,” Marin ONO commented. “We are happy with what we did today. It’s a nice place here, we have been here the second time as a pair,” Hon Lam TO added.
Hong Kong Skating Union Member Sumika YAMADA also participated in the NRW Trophy 2014, and placed 16th in Ladies.
