2021年12月9日，國際滑冰聯盟官方公佈中國香港取得2022北京冬奧男子500米入場券。是次短道速滑代表隊所獲得的寶貴參賽資格，同時也成為了港隊通往2022北京冬奧會一個重要的里程碑。在東京奧運會後再次點燃了香港的奧運之光。 港隊出征冬奧資格戰之路並非一帆風順。在競賽制度的改變和疫情管控之下，原本已經因場地匱乏導致訓練無法正常進行的選手們更是困難重重。但香港滑冰聯盟以堅韌的精神支持選手突破各種訓練及比賽困境。經多方的奮鬥和努力，最終踏進『雙奧之城』的2022冬奧會。 香港滑冰聯盟主席葉小燕表示：「在艱辛的疫情時期和欠缺訓練場地下，港隊仍然能夠取得入場券顯得難能可貴和意義非凡。希望入圍北京冬奧能進一步推動本地滑冰運動發展，爭取更多的訓練資源和標準訓練及比賽場地。我再次感謝穿梭亞歐四地的短道速滑隊隊員和隨隊工作人員的付出，使多年的奮鬥目標得以實現。」 香港滑冰聯盟曾多次入圍冬季奧運，代表香港踏入冬季運動的競賽殿堂。 短道速滑入圍紀錄如下： 2002年 鹽湖城冬奧 2006年 都靈冬奧 2010年 溫哥華冬奧 2014年 索契冬奧 2022年 北京冬奧

短道速滑運動員隋鑫正積極備戰來年的冬季奧林匹克運動會，現時長時間留在中國內地進行密集式訓練，為求在比賽中發揮水準，以最好成績完成各項比賽。 隋鑫以往曾在2019亞洲短道速滑公開大獎賽的500米及1500米項目分別取得金牌及銅牌，在2019短道速滑亞洲杯的500米丶1500米個人及200米接力項目中取得金牌，亦在1000米項目中取得銅牌，有非常亮麗的比賽戰績。 因此，我們十分期待隋鑫在冬奧的表現，有望他在比賽中代表香港爭取晉級北京冬奧。
