ABOUT US

Hong Kong China Skating Union Limited (HKSU), previously named Hong Kong Skating Union, was established in 1980 aims to promote and develop ice sports in Hong Kong. In 2003, the Hong Kong Skating Union was formally registered as Hong Kong China Skating Union Limited for better management, development and promotion of ice sports in Hong Kong.

HKSU Introduction

Hong Kong China Skating Union Limited is the registered full member of the International Skating Union (ISU) and Asian Skating Union (ASU). HKSU is also the associate member of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF & OC).

We are proud to see that our athletes have been gaining outstanding achievements in ice sports in recent years: since 2002, we had made history for Hong Kong, China (winter sports) to be the first qualified for the Winter Olympic Games, joined the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, and afterward we have been qualified for the Winter Olympic Games for five times. The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is a new milestone for us, and we will seek more breakthroughs in the future. Moreover, figure skating, Ice dance and Short track speed skaters have won medals in major competitions such as the Asian Championships and the National Winter Games, constantly breaking new records in Hong Kong’s ice skating.

Our goal is to pursue for excellence, to encourage athletes to gain confidence and recognition through outstanding performance on the skating rink, and to help athletes realize their dreams on the international stage and get involved in the Winter Olympic Games.

HKSU Events

Every year HKSU hosts the “Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge” and the “Hong Kong Figure Skating and Short Track Speed Skating Championships” in order to train up more potential young skaters and exchange the experience with skaters from other National Associations worldwide. Since the establishment of the HKSU, we have been promoting and developing ice sports diligently. We faithfully participate for every year’s Sports Festival hosted by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China. With the subvented from Leisure and Cultural Services Department, our skaters actively participate in regional and international events and competitions.
