Ms. YIP Siu Yin

Emeritus Chairman of Hong Kong Skating Union since 2023

Ms. YIP Siu Yin has joined the Hong Kong Skating Union (HKSU) since 2000 and served as a member of the executive committee until 2022.

On June 15, 2003, she was appointed as the chairperson of the executive committee of the Hong Kong Skating Union. After the association was converted into a limited company, she concurrently served as the acting president and chairperson of the executive committee of the Hong Kong Skating Union Co., Ltd. from September 13, 2003. In 2004, she was elected as the vice-chairman of the Asian Skating Union. From 2006 to 2016, she was appointed as the auditor of the Asian Skating Union several times. In 2007, she was awarded a certificate of commendation by the Secretary for Home Affairs, affirming Ms. Yip’s contribution to the Hong Kong sports scene.

Under the leadership of Ms. Yip, the development and promotion of skating in Hong Kong is obvious to all. HKSU has achieved numerous breakthroughs in the last twenty years, including generating 6 Olympians and many Top 15 finish in World Championships, and has been for the last four years, classified as Tier A in Hong Kong Sports Institute. Ms. Yip also committed to introducing high-level domestic coaches and athletes, and actively seeking government funding and commercial sponsorship to provide better training conditions for local athletes. The current training time and conditions of athletes are better than before, and athletes in international competitions have also been frequent improvements in performance.
